Harken Hall℠ is a multi-purpose venue and event destination located in Madison, Tennessee, meticulously crafted to provide guests with exceptional experiences. Our 600-capacity listening hall is a sanctuary for sound that also delivers professional-grade production, broadcast, and streaming capabilities. A stunning campus, Harken Hall is envisioned as an escape for anyone with an artistic expression to share or a story to tell. Built upon a relentless commitment to sustainable practices from scratch, every beam was laid and wire was installed to foster more collaboration and connection in the Nashville community.
When our President Jamie Amos was invited to lead theproject, she walked through the building, seeking a connection between the space and its name. She searched for one that spoke to the spirit and soul of the Hall, a word that would better reflect the essence of the space—something that captured both its purpose and its atmosphere.
That search led to the word Hark, or Harken. In Shakespearean usage, “hark” means to listen closely or pay careful attention. It is an invitation to be fully present—to truly hear. It can also mean to reflect, to look back with memory and intention.
Harken Hall felt like the right name. It spoke to the Hall’s mission: to create a space where people can truly listen—and be heard.

The hall’s construction is predominantly composed of reclaimed wood. The building’s exterior is finished out with stonework to mirror some of the neighborhood's historic churches. The giant timbers which form the structure are assembled with wooden dowels and were sourced from an old sawmill in Oregon and from North Carolina tobacco barns. The interior walls are covered with corral board from the same timber package to complement a carefully designed acoustic environment. Re-sawn lumber finishes out the interior structure to give a resonance to the listening environment that together with acoustic treatments manage sound reflections. In other words, Harken Hall’s listening room is also a very large recording studio.
Harken Hall is an independently owned multi-purpose venue. Owners include long-term residents of Nashville, Tennessee, and others located out-of-state who are dedicated on providing Harken Hall guests with exceptional experiences.
With world–class acoustics and a state-of-the-art AV system, the 960 square foot Main Stage at Harken Hall is the cornerstone of any performance event. Further production capabilities are made possible by the recording and broadcast studios in our Artist Building.
