Music City Roots featuring Goldpine, hilljack, Joel Tyler King and Brett Moore from The Wild Feathers

Come enjoy Music City Roots at Harken Hall on February 25, bringing its signature mix of discovery, storytelling, and unforgettable live performances to the stage. Born as a live radio show and now a nationally recognized television series, Music City Roots has a long-standing partnership with WMOT 89.5 FM in the Murfreesboro–Nashville area. From Nashville to stages around the world, the series has built a reputation for spotlighting exceptional artists and capturing the magic of live music in the moment.

This month’s showcase features a special appearance from Joel Tyler King of The Wild Feathers, performing an intimate set that blends fan-favorite Wild Feathers songs with material from his acclaimed solo record. He will be joined by fellow Wild Feathers guitarist Brett Moore, adding rich harmonies and layered guitar work.

Also taking the stage is hilljack, an alt-country band with Nashville roots known for its unfiltered sound, authentic songwriting, and roots-driven energy. First emerging in the early 2000s, the group built a reputation for blending country storytelling with an Americana and roots-rock edge. The lineup features Paul Jefferson, Porter Howell, John Riffe, and Sonny LeMaire, bringing decades of songwriting credits and touring experience while maintaining a fiercely independent, musically fearless identity. On stage, hilljack delivers a raw, high-energy show where honesty drives every lyric and every riff, connecting deeply with fans of alt-country, Americana, and roots music alike.

Rounding out the lineup is Nashville duo Goldpine, known for their bold, golden harmonies and emotionally charged “aggressive Americana” sound. Winners of the Rocky Mountain Songwriter Contest and featured on NPR’s Mountain Stage with Kathy Mattea, the husband-and-wife pair bring 16 years of shared life and music into every performance. Their newly released third album, Three, captures stories of sorrow, tested love, and wanderlust, drawn from live recordings on the road and showcasing the duo’s raw, onstage energy.

Whether you’re a longtime fan or discovering Music City Roots for the first time, this is your chance to be part of a night that celebrates great musicians, great acoustics, and the thrill of live performance. Tickets start at $25 and increase the day of the show, so grab yours early.
