Harken Hall is proud to continue our Off The Rails series with two of Americana’s most beloved and influential artists: Sam Bush and Tim O’Brien.
Friends for half a century, these two helped blaze new trails in traditional string music. Newly inducted into the Bluegrass Hall of Fame as co-founder of Hot Rize, Grammy winner O’Brien has written songs for Garth Brooks, Dierks Bentley, and Bush’s own Newgrass Revival. Fellow Bluegrass Hall of Famer and Bowling Green Kentucky native Sam Bush is a pioneer of the progressive bluegrass sound and the reining King of Telluride. Everybody from Leon Russell to Emmy Lou Harris knows Sam IS the man. Expect rhythmic propulsion, powerful singing, and dueling mandolins and fiddles in their first ever duet appearance.
Together, these longtime friends bring unmatched chemistry to the stage — trading songs, harmonies, and stories in a performance that is equal parts virtuosity and camaraderie.
The name Off The Rails nods to Madison Station’s rail heritage, but it also reflects the series’ spirit: a space where artists leave the expected behind, embrace spontaneity, and let creativity run wild. With Sam and Tim leading the way, no two nights could ever be the same.
